Faith is a choice, one that you make daily. When you wake in the morning and put your feet on the floor, you must decide to be faithful. With all the world beating you down with its pressures and temptations, with the struggles of life and death, this is not an easy choice. It can be demanding and difficult. Sometimes it would be easier to just give up and go along with the crowd. But for the Christian, the rewards outweigh the consequences. We have the promise of life eternal in the presence of God, where all our tears will be wiped away. This does not make our choice to be faithful here easier, but we know that the battle is not in vain. So, how can we make the choice to live faithfully in a world that bombards us with sorrow? First of all, you must know who you are being faithful to. To understand who God is we must look at the promises that He left to us and commit them to our minds and hide them in our hearts so that we won't sin against Him. His whole plan for our lives and a description of His personality are written to us. Secondly, we need to build a relationship and communicate with Him. Through prayer( talking to the Father) we share our concerns and joys of this life. If we listen, He answers back to us, through our convictions and conscience and the written word. Thirdly if we spend our time in helping others, our problems seem more insignificant. By putting ourselves out there to those in need, no matter how big or small, we experience a joy that cannot be matched and at the same time our faith becomes more real and felt deeply. We feel our purpose in this way.
Faith is an action word, it commands us to be on the move. Believing is only part of it, many belive in God but are not faithful. Our faith should have us to be busy making a difference to those we come in contact with.
