Ideas to solve the American economic crisis

One of my favorite TV shows is the Fox Network show Bones. FBI special agent Seeley Booth drives a Toyota Sequoia on the show. I just went and saw the movie Thor. Secret U.S. department S.H.I.E.L.D. agents all drive Acuras. A co-worker of mine just took a vacation to Mexico for the week. My parent's friends are planning a trip to London.

These are just a few examples but each of them shows an obvious opportunity for helping out the current American economic situation. The U.S. Federal government should be using nothing but American made products: American Cars, American Cell Phones, American Computers, Radios, and even writing utensils. Keeping on that issue, every American should keep this in mind as they make purchases. I will admit that cell-phones are difficult as not everyone can afford an IPhone and there aren't an awful lot of American alternatives, but look at the other items involved in your daily life; Household appliances, groceries, vehicles, services, investments, etc. The things we purchase have an incredible impact on the strength of our economy.

On the subject of investments, take a few moments to catch up on the stock market channels. Every single day reports are given as to the current price of gold. Every day it seems that the price of gold is going up as more and more people are dumping their investments and placing their money in this rock. Rocks don't help paint our homes, they certainly don't help us get to work in the morning. Rocks just sit there, and in the case of gold or diamonds, look pretty. But they do not help improve the strength of our economy. They don't help people buy homes, they don't help people buy new toys.

If the goal really is to help make America great again, each and everyone of us needs to think about where our money is going. When I buy this orange in December, who is making this money? When I bought my Toyota Tacoma, why didn't I take into consideration who benefited from that purchase? I feel bad about it now knowing that a Ford or Chevy could be getting me where I need to go just as easy.

This takes me away from my main point here but it is something that I have come to really believe in. When making your shopping lists, think about what stores you are going to. If you need a screwdriver to help put together your new media cabinet try to remember the local hardware store down the street. Do what you can to ignore the big Sears sign or Walmart on every third corner. The world you see when you open your front door is the world that you have an impact on. Buying from Minnesota's SuperTarget doesn't help Arvada, Colorado. Buying from Japan's Acura doesn't help anyone here in America.

Bottom line is that the way we fix America's economy is to purchase from America! Take you're vacations here, buy your necessities from here. You live your lives in this country so why not make the ever so minimal effort to give back to it from time to time? It really is that easy.
