I look in your eyes
I want to see the boy I fell in love with
But he’s gone
That boy became a man
You are not
What I remembered
You are not who
I learned to love
I’ve spent years
Thinking about you
But all I thought was true
Turned out to be a fantasy
I still love that boy
From all those years ago
But he’s gone
And maybe so am I

This town,
these lights,
The sounds,
The air,
It changed so fast.
I blinked,
Awoke,
Life has
It's not what I remembered
you being this way, your voice
coarse and short speaking.
Appearance unkept
Where has your
Fury of life becomes encumbered
by former things not what I remembered.
Dreams of freedom so endearing

by Jeff Taggart

I recalled your charming smile and grace, and when I needed you
