The Sims 2 for the PC is a terrific game loved by millions. With its unique life simulator idea, its many wonderful expansion packs and the ability to control a unique NPC, the Sims 2 is definitely a game to own. Like many PC games on the market, the ability to enter cheats and mod the game is endless. The makers of the game thus decided to add some legitimate cheats to enhance the gaming experience.
Every person is unique, and so our gaming types are different as well. Some gamers love to start from scratch and level up in whatever game they play. Cheats are out of the question to these avid gamers. Others prefer a simpler approach and only want to experience the best parts of the game. This is where the money cheat comes in. Simoleans, the currency for the Sims 2, can be added by the gamer by pressing [Ctrl – Shift – C] at the same time. The cheat bar appears on the top of the screen. Simply type in “kaching” with no quotes to add 1000 simoleans or “motherlode” with no quotes to get 50000 simoleans.
Some gamers might be frustrated with not being able to move a certain object. Simply open the cheat bar again and type in “moveObjects on” with no quotes and go to buy mode to move virtually any object, even a Sim! This is useful for gamers who prefer a more unique house with odd things like floating doors and their Sims in odd positions. To turn the cheat off, simply type in “moveObjects off” and the game will go back to normal.
Sims, like real humans, age too. But gamers can now play God and stop the aging process. Simply open up the cheat bar and type in “aging on” or “aging off” to toggle the aging process. This cheat is great for anyone who hates to see their beloved Sims die after hours of building them up.
Can’t keep up with your Sims needs? It seems like the Sim’s needs can never be fulfilled, but with this cheat, the Sim can easily be maxed out in all their needs. Type in “maxmotives” and like magic, your Sim is back and better than ever. This cheat is great if your Sim is starving and about to die or wants to finish learning a skill but has no energy left.
Finally, the creators made the God of all cheats, “boolprop testingcheatsenabled true”. With this cheat enabled, the gamer can experiment the boundaries of this cheat. By doing [Shift – Left click] on some objects, like the mailbox or your Sim, a whole list of cheats is then available. Using this cheat also enables the gamer to manually drag each need bar to wherever they want it. The point is, experiment and see just how cool this cheat is.
Above are the best cheats of the game. However, when playing the game legitimately, here are some base tips. Build a one-story house first with the minimum items needed i.e., a fridge, a stove, a sink, a toilet, a bathtub, a bed, and a TV. Try putting them all in one room so that the cost goes down. Now, use the newspaper and find a job. As the Sim grows smarter, or levels up, the money will start to really pour in. This is when a renovation is recommended. And, like in real life, avoid having children because they take A LOT of time. Focus primarily on getting your Sim to the top of their career, then settle down and do whatever you please. My only tip is, model your Sim’s life after the life you wish to live and the Sim will soon become one of the most popular and richest Sim in their town.
