I deal with homeless people all day. I work in a Downtown area where homeless people roam the streets. It seems fairly normal here because there are so many homeless people. Our city has one of the best homeless shelters in the U.S., homeless people flock to us. Although some of these homeless people walk the streets asking for money to buy dope, there are many others who just want to eat. There is really no way to tell what these people do with the handouts. The only reason people believe all homeless people are drunks/drug addicts is because of the media. Whenever a homeless person approaches me on the street I ask them what they want and I will go purchase it for them. So, there really is no way of knowing unless someone did a top secret survey throughout the homeless community.
