Deciding whether Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame

In 140+ years in baseball, no player, including Ty Cobb, had more hits than Pete Rose, but for the last 15 years or so, no player has been more stubborn than Pete Rose, yet in recent days Rose FINALLY came clean, and the truth shall set you free! Indeed the truth will finally set Pete Rose free. Rose finally admitted gambling! One of the most intense players in baseball history admitted weakness. It's hard even for a multi-million dollar player to resist temptation. Here you are, the top of your game, and you can't bet on your profession. Now it's fair rule, not to gamble on the sport you play, after all, you stand to win a staggering percentage, along with others you aide in casinos. You also aide those in a business that has a history of corruption. Nonetheless, Rose gambled on his Cincinnati Reds, which will raise suspicion of tampering. But Pete Roses' Reds were contenders in the N.L. east, when the National League was only 2 divisions! So Pete Rose was not tampering, ask Barry Larkin, Eric Davis, heck Marge Schott! Of course Rose deserves the Hall of Fame, don't let weakness be the reason for exile! Pete Rose the all-time singles batsmen, World Series ring bearer with the notorious Big Red Machine, who Mack Trucked Ray Fosse in the All-Star Game(I'm an A's fan remember)deserves to be statued! Why? Confession is good for the soul! Prolific words if I ever heard them. A real man should be able to confront criticism, it's what makes us human! In conclusion, the guilt had to eat at him, Rose is a champion, and although champs are conceited, if you talk the talk, you walk the walk. Rose walked it, yet with all the glory in past years, assuming that people would remember him, let's face it, nobody spoke a word about Charlie Hustle. I know it sounds like he's a selfish player, but really you can't be intense without being a little stubborn. You don't win every year either, and in your slumping years competitors find ways to stay focused, even unfortunately, if it's gambling. Pete Rose is not perfect, that doesn't mean he should be punished for it, so to the Commissioner Selig, LET PETE ROSE IN! 3/15/07
