Looking in the mirror, I know I am wrong
I did everything I was taught to be bad; almost evil
All with the face of an angel
Information entrusted with me was not safe
I said, "Of course, I'll destroy it" but held, like gold,
the combination to quench my desire.
Raised to be honest, loyal and faithful
I was none
What had I become?
Satan doesn't always play the snake
Sometimes he's a nagging voice, explaining the ease with which we can disappoint the ones who created us:
Our Lord, Our Parents; the ones who would never lead us into harm.
And that is what it is has come to; I sinned
Not for the first time; we are sinners all
But I sinned in a way which frightened me; it was too easy
And I never called it "sin," until finally the stop sign arose.
