Get over it!

I have been doing the right thing
I have taken myself out of the game
Out of harm's way

No more the agony of living on the precipice
No more hanging on a word, a look
No more torture

The excruciating bitchiness of hope is a problem no more

Working towards lofty, yet attainable goals
Feeding the kids, paying the bills
Living a life

I may be alone right now
But that is always finite
More or less

The noble pursuit of qualified happiness continues

Ignore the nagging emptiness
Ignore the magic moments
Ignore the truth

There was no epiphany
There is no perfection
There is this

Confusion, pollution, illusion, delusion

Accept the real life
Deny the fantasy
Move forward

Behind is only pain
Behind was a mistake
Ahead ahoy!

Wake up! Grow up! Man up! Suck it up!

Get on with the business of living
Get a hold on the reins of the world
Get over it

If not it will go on forever
It will infect everything
Mercilessly

Such is the beautiful horror of this disease
