New Orleans is known for traditional Cajun and French cuisine. The city’s most famous sandwich, the po-boy, is a classic French bread sandwich that is often served topped with fried seafood – although this is not how the original New Orleans po-boy sandwich was made.
What many outsiders may not know is that New Orleans and the surrounding area offers some of the best Greek cuisine as well. During Memorial Day weekend, New Orleans hosts an annual Greek Festival where visitors will find entertainment, traditional costumes, and the aroma of Greek food filling the senses. When it’s not festival time, this traditional bounty can also be had at some of the best New Orleans area Greek restaurants.
