Dear Lord
Please help me walk away
To not hold anger
Disgust and dismay
Help me to remember
That anger brings pain
To all involved
Including the innocents in the way
Please help me walk away
Help me not to press my opinion
To push others to listen
To argue with anyone
For any reason
For then the war is just fought
And no-one won
Please help me walk away
I’m going to need your help a lot
It’s going to take all I’ve got
I need to remember what I’ve been taught
And take the time to think
This is the world we live in
Not a fighting rink
Please help me walk away
Please help me to leave something
Something good
Something kind
When I turn and walk away
Something that I won’t have to apologize for the next day
Something gentle within myself
That calms my inner self
To know that I was smart enough
To simply....walk away

A Love That Never Fails
There’s a love that never leaves me,
Though I turn and walk away.
While I run among the wicked,
If I lacked emotion and could, I'd walk away,
Leave explanations and penance for another day.
It'd be a day put off until
Loss of Innocence
i wear no clothes at the river,
returning to nature as a sad lover
touching earth skin to skin.
