Poetry: Rest in peace

by Alexander Orozco

Created on: April 11, 2011   Last Updated: April 12, 2011

Oh, poor unknown soul, who lies in eternal rest,
May you find what your soul seeks in the life we do not know.
Although we know not the paths you traveled on your quests
We shall surely mourn over the lack of that shine in your eyes, life’s glow!

Whether or not you died as a child or grown,
Your memory, unknown soul, shall spread through the atmosphere.
Unmarked is your grave, so here I shall place a stone.
To the boy who rebelled against the invading forces without fear.

May you rest in peace, seeing our battle is being won.
Your courage has sparked the rebellion in our forces!
The enemies, scared witless, have made for a run,
And their schemes have taken changes in their courses.

Fear not, for the nation you left behind is safe with us.
For our people to know your sacrifice, it shall not take long.
You have inspired our hearts, ridding them of fear and fuss.
And we give praise to you with this victory song!
