You've been drinking
But you're thinking
I can still drive
And stay alive
You're invincible, you're quite bold
Over the limit despite what you've been told
Speeding doesn't hurt a bit
Unless there is something there to hit
You're incredible, talking on your cell phone
Like thousands of other drivers you're not alone
Your concentration on driving maybe close to nil
But it's other idiots, not you that kill
You may think you're clever until you run out luck
When the police chase you it really must suck
Flashing lights with their siren on
A blinding smash,.... and then you're gone

Poetry: You're gone
by Jon Coe
I go to work, I come home
I sometimes talk to you, on the phone
I watch TV, I go to bed
I didn't hear, what you said
You pack
The starlight silhouette
As I watch you leave
Taking with you everything
That meant anything to me
The glimmer
Each day I awoke I felt your presence
That pressure on me was so immense
For I was but a child too
And I just didn't know what
What happened mother dear?
You gave birth to me,
Then parted ways,
Perhaps out of fear.
I grew up not knowing why,
I asked
Ever touch, every word
Was a lie.
Every moment wasted
You’ve forgotten.
Every time your eyes snag mine
I know that
