Poetry: As the wind whispers

by Jane Myers

Created on: April 11, 2011

THE STORM:  I heard loud claps of thunder and felt droplets of rain upon my head.

Fearlessly calling out to hearts and souls, even those of deep despair ~ to just endure.

Beneath and beyond all circumstance of hope, I grieved that some lives might be lost.

Ferocious winds writhed and churned as I felt the massiveness of this ominous storm.

Quickly moving clouds brought thunder and lightening bolts that were stupendous.

This was an  omnipotent warning to man and creatures alike to find safety and shelter from the storm.

Looking up with rain and tears flowing down my face, I huddled in an outdoor shed made of rotting wood.

It was just around the bend past massive Oak tree and the Weeping Willow trees, I found peace.

It is in that place and in that state of mind, I began to hear the whispering winds call my name.

I began to listen and learned to listen to the whispering winds telling me not to cry.

I had just had the privilege of being whispered to by God ~ and I found peace.
