Water's polluted,
The sky's in a haze,
The ground even feels it,
The err of our ways.
Plastics pile up,
A blight to the land,
Floating out in the water,
A curse by our hand.
Marine life is dying,
Brought ashore by the tide,
Doomed by our greed,
Our time we do bide.
Urgency, we have none,
Just want, need, get more,
Are we abysmally late,
To stop what's in store?
Disregard all around us,
A foundation is laid,
We turn a blind eye,
A fine mess we've made.
