Product reviews: Too Faced bronzer and pressed powder

Too Faced is a cosmetic company that was started in 1997 and is based in California.  Its founder was a makeup artist and used his knowledge to start his own unique line of cosmetics.  It has become very popular with the “trendy” set in Hollywood.

I stumbled across them online and was drawn to their products because of the packaging.  A lot of the products are done up in pink or other ways that appeal to the girl in me.  The bronzer I purchased is called Peach Leopard and is packaged in a full sized compact including mirror.  It is bronze colored with a pink border and with Too Faced in pink on the cover.  Very Cute.  The actual product goes on light at first and looks very natural, like you have been in the sun.  It can be built up for the look you want, too.  It has not turned orangey on me yet, either.  I have used the bronzer almost exclusively since I got it instead of using blush since I like the look so much.

The bronzers are $28.00 and come in other colors beside the Peach Leopard.

The pressed powder also comes in a full size compact with mirror.  It is in a black compact with the logo Too Faced in pink on the cover.  They do include a sponge-like applicator with the pressed powder, but I much prefer to use a brush.  The powder is translucent so it will match most skin tones.  It has a slight amount of sparkle to it, but not so much that it looks too glittery on someone who is out of their teenage years such as me.  I apply to my T-zone area and on my cheekbones and use sparingly.  It helps stop the shine that tends to start in the afternoons and does not tend to gather in the fine lines and wrinkles as so many powders can.  It is soft to the touch and very fine.

The powder is $25.00 and at the time of this article, translucent is the only shade of pressed powder they offer.  Too Faced also has a line of makeup brushes that are made from non-animal sources.  I received a sample brush with one of the orders I had placed online and really do like them, but I have a lot of brushes of my own, so have not ordered their brushes as of yet.

I like both products and use them almost every day.  I give them both a 5 out of 5 star rating.
