Want five star comfort at affordable prices? Look no further than Hotel.com’s list of the best 5-star room rates in the world. From Europe to Africa, the hotel booking website has tracked the most affordable cities for luxury hotels in the world. Based on actual rates paid by its customers, the website certainly knows what it’s talking about.

Warsaw, Poland

The capital and the largest city in Poland, Warsaw isn’t usually at the tip of the tongue as a luxury vacation destination. But with 5-star hotel prices starting at just $115 per night, this city is the top affordable luxury hotel destination in the world. When you can get yourself to leave the comfort of your hotel room, the charms of this “phoenix city” that rose from the ashes of World War II will make your vacation choice all the more worthwhile.

Tallinn, Estonia

The old town of Estonia’s capital, Tallinn, has been named as a World Heritage Site and also has the honor of being the European Capital of Culture for 2011. With luxury hotel prices averaging $157 per day, there’s even more reason to visit this beautiful city now.

Marrakech, Morocco

Marrakech may not be as famous as its seaside sister, Casablanca, but this city is well worth a visit. Known as the “red city”, Marrakech is steeped in history, having been a former imperial city. It also boasts the largest souk or traditional market in the country. As a bonus, five star hotel prices average just $160 per night.

Budapest, Hungary

The three cities of Buda, Obuda, and Pest on both sides of the Danube, were unified to form a single city, Budapest, in 1873. Today, the city is the capital of Hungary and home to the fourth most affordable five star hotels in the world. With prices averaging $168 per night, do you need any more reason to visit?

Lisbon, Portugal

The Portuguese capital, Lisbon, is home to two Unesco World Heritage Sites – the Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery. It is also the European metropolis that enjoys the warmest winters and has the honor of being the seventh most visited city in Southern Europe. With luxury hotel prices averaging $169 per night, it’s not hard to see why.

Luxury hotels with their fabulous service and comfortable beds swathed in high thread count sheets may seem like an impossible dream. But with prices starting at just $115 in Warsaw Poland, a five star hotel vacation may not be as far out of reach as you think.
