I have been watching baseball for as long as I can remember. One of my first memories is watching a Braves game with my dad. It was before all this talk of steroids and all fans were worried about is whether their team will make the playoffs or not. It was a time of innocence for a baseball fan. Now all you hear about is whether or no this player or that player is taking something to help his game. Anytime any player has a really good run at the plate or makes a series of really great plays everyone starts to immediately wonder if the are taking steroids or if they are really just that good.
Ever since all this stuff with Sosa and Bonds baseball players have been scrutinized and every good one has been put under the microscope by the media and by MLB. It has turned into a joke and takes away from the guys that are really talented and deserve to be held as role models. The use of steroids is wrong and everyone knows that. And by the public admissions of some of baseballs best, or what we thought was the best, it has taken the innocent enjoyment from the fans and tainted the game that everyone grew up knowing was full of heroes and role models. Steroids and that players that have and continue to use it have changed the way a lot of people view the game and stolen from many loyal fans some very wonderful memories that will never be the same now.
