Poetry: New love

Emerging

From the void I emerge aware

I see in you a kaleidoscope
Ever changing shapes of perfection
swirling in a vessel
of harmony
A fragrance of colors caught
reflecting its music
whose essence surrounds me
in rainbows of silk

From the deep I emerge breathing

I find you in my arms and I’m warmed
There’s a ledge for happiness after all
A foothold for living
A path for love
Pinpricks left openings of pain
depleting my lifeblood
Your kisses sealed my hurt
and restored my heart

From the night I emerge renewed

You’ve bound me to vast towers of hope
Like golden oaks in the morning
binding their branches
to the sunlight
Hitchhiking seeds in the wind
will whisper to themselves
that your seed to my heart
outgrows its vessel

From the depths I emerge in love

Frantically bathing in each kiss
we roll across the firmament
begging…once more
from each other
The grass so true to its word
stays soft on our shoulders
As eyes of the daisies
look away, jealous

From the light we emerge as one
