In the moment we made a decision
To capture a simple second in time
A picture taken with no sincere vision
Or thought of what kind of future I would find
A set of smiles that soon faded
From vibrant to a somber shade of grey
How quickly I became so jaded
How slowly I let you walk away
Soon I only possessed that single frame
That held my favorite memory
The rest of my life fell into the flame
Burned up by lies, deceit, and jealousy
And now there's nothing anymore
Darkness clouds my lonely mind
I honestly don't know what tomorrow is for
I can't see a future, I can only rewind
The light of my life is gone from me
But her face still smiles back every night
Hanging, framed in perfect serenity
A frozen image, once my guiding light
But my how the tide has turned
As our roles have flipped so sure
A simple lesson I have learned
And the hardest lessons, always endure
Where once she looked out to me
It seems I'm now trapped behind the glass
Staring at a colorless life of misery
Forever focused on a world that has passed
In the moment we made a decision
To capture a simple second in time
I had never pictured such a pretty prison
Or thought I'd be trapped inside my own mind

Poetry: Being trapped
by Terrence Aym
The Box
Trapped in this box,
With a wheelless car.
Trapped in this box,
With a shattered star.
Trapped in this box,
It seems awfully
TRAPPED
Something is here,
inside me screaming,
its been awakened,
a hungry demon.
Realizing how alone it can be,
never
I thought you should know
That I don't know where to go
My heart is torn in two
And no, it's not because of you
I'm trapped
When we were together, I felt like I was trapped
I worked so hard to hide it, all my strength was sapped
Slowly, I felt myself
Under the ice
the water is so cold it burns
with illusory warmth.
Under the ice
I have become mere flotsam,
caught and held
