The joys of curling

My first experience of curling was at my freinds house during the lasst olimpicics. We first started waching it just as a joke, but then once we started to discover the startigeys of the sport it became quite interesting. curling is sortof a cross between bowling, pool, darts, and shuffle board. when curling the team leader pushes the granite block across the ice, and the other team members brush the ice to make a channel in the ice to steer the block. this sounds simple, but in reality it really isn't. first off, when you slide the block the objective is to get it closest to a bulsy at the end of the rink. Next, after the first round you are also trying to knock the other teams blocks out of the bullseye. when the block is pushed off you must judge how much force is needed to successfully acomplish your goal for that turn. Also you can not let your block touch the edges of the rink, because otherwise whtever points that block would get don't coun't towards your points. also when the block is in motion it can be steered to an extent by the brushers, because they can make grooves in the ice that the block will fowlow. Curling is very complex and hard to explain so next time you see it on TV just tune in and learn about it and slowly learn to enjoy it and want to play.
