Disciplining inspiration for creative writing

steps forward and in an art form, honestly portrays life that includes the realities of that most intimate, and universal, part of humanity sexuality? It's sometimes beautiful, can be ugly, may be gentle, and oftentimes is harsh, but it is a part of every living, breathing individual on the face of this earth. So then, why are we afraid of it, and why do we almost automatically make every effort to downplay such an important part of who we are? I am a sexual being. I admit that up front and I don't shy away from it as fact.

I'd say that's probably why I choose to incorporate sex into virtually everything I write for publication. Understand, for you, that if you make the same decision, you will walk a similar road. You, too, are a sexual being. As is the man at the gas station. As is the preacher at the church down the street. And, believe it or not, so also is that 80-ish year old woman sitting three tables away from you in the family restaurant. If you asked her in just the right way, you'd probably hear stories from her that you would never imagined coming out of such aged, and well-lived, lips. And those lips would probably form a secretive, very pleased smile at all the memories.

Each of us may incorporate our sexuality into our worlds in different ways, but it is no lie that sex makes the whole wide world go round. My world, your world, and everyone else's, too. Don't ever let anyone tell you anything different. If you fully understand that you will be under a never-ending microscope, and if you are willing to stand up to that criticism, (and if you have writing talent, of COURSE!), and if you seriously want to dig deep into the human psyche, let's look into sex and humanity and love and hate, because you will cover all those emotions and more. And let's do so honestly and willingly under the spotlight.

No inhibitions. Leave those, and your fears, on the other side of the door. Yours will probably not be a journey into sex without thought. It is not the world of pornography or gratuitous sex. This will be a never-ending evolution into your own heart and soul and that of your collective neighbor.

From that, you will learn how to create blatantly erotic writing.
