How to connect your MP3 player to your car stereo

With the new wave of MP3 players, we can have all of our songs in one place. What if we want to listen to all of our songs in the car? How do you connect your MP3 player to your car's stereo? There are a couple of options.

The first option is to buy a mini-stereo cable. This will plug into the mini-stereo port on your car stereo. Look for the Aux-In jack. If you go this route, remember that different cables will have different quality, and there will always be times when the connection is not very good. Check your car before you buy this cable, because a lot of cars do not have this capability.

If your car does not have an Aux-In jack, there is another option. You can buy a car cassette adapter. This simply plugs into your MP3 player and slides into your cassette deck. The main problem with this option is that sometimes tapes can get jammed. I know this has happened a lot with GM cars, especially old cars. If you go this route, make sure that you read all the instructions in your manual about cassette tapes. If you think you might have trouble, try leaving the adapter in the cassette deck once you get it working.

My car does not have a Aux-In jack, and it has an unusable cassette adapter jammed in the cassette deck. Research your options, follow instructions, and I hope you are more successful than I was. Enjoy your listening experience!
