Cocooned like a dark night,
The hours tracked by moonlight
Where the sun should rise
And winter wins its prize
In the cold dark day.
But when the flowers grow
And spring brings on its show,
The night is cast away
Leaving you to see the day.
The chill of the wind fades
Like frowns forgotten in the shade
And smiles greet the morning dew,
The frosty cobwebs and rainbow hues
As April showers cleanse the land.
But when the flowers grow
And spring brings on its show,
The night is cast away
Leaving you to see the day.
