"Give them nothing and take from them everything" commands King Leonidus at the helm of his 300 Spartan soldiers as they anxiously await the huge wave of Persian warriors about to smash against them in bloody battle. Like a battering ram, the Persians collide into the line of gold Spartan shields and the battle becomes a heave-hoe wrestling match between the Herculean Spartans and their adversaries. After a moment, the Spartans push the Persians off balance in a unison type punch of the shields, and thrust their spears swiftly into the hearts of their foes. Crimson splatters all throughout the scene, as wave after wave of enemy soldiers feel the spine crackling thrust of the Spartans consistent punch-thrust defense.
King Leonidus meets with Xerxes, the Persian God King, after this battle to diplomatically discuss terms. He meets the 7 foot tall Xerxes, and is unimpressed. You can tell Leonidus wants to kick this guys ass. He resists though, but he makes a prediction that the Persians will see their god king bleed before the fighting is done. Leonidus makes good on this promise too. He heaves a spear several hundred yards away, and cuts the face of self proclaimed divinity as Xerxes barely escapes death from the last blow from the Spartans. Although Xerxes survives the spear, his immoratality dies, and is replaced with that of Leonidus, the King of Sparta. This movie wasn't just another David versus Goliath epic. It was an epic with style!
This movie was freaking awesome!
