How to achieve lasting weight loss

Here's new hope for dieters, an easy healthy weight loss regime that's established by simply changing your eating habits. Make it easier on yourself by only buying healthy low calorie food when you go grocery shopping. That will eliminate all the temptation and disappointment about deciding what to eat. You will only have healthy low calorie alternatives so you can't make fattening or non-healthy choices. It is also the best for your family.

This nouveau weight loss plan is as simple as replacing the fattening, high carb or high calorie foods you eat with more nutritional lower calorie foods. For example, at breakfast time don't have bacon and eggs, or donuts, or a bagel with cream cheese and jelly. Have fruit and cereal, a fruit wrap or a meat substitute. You'll feel better about eating a more nutritious less fattening breakfast because it is a lighter meal.

Another basic principle of changing to healthier eating habits to lose weight is to increase the amount of fluids you drink and to drink more water. Water is a great choice because it has no calories and can reduce hunger. Drinking a glass of water before each meal or whenever you feel hungry can help you to feel full and eat less. Try to drink more water, or drink eight to ten glasses of water a day. Drinking more water helps to hydrate your body, boosts your metabolism and helps to remove fat and toxins.

Don't drink so many sweet drinks like sodas. Try to drink at least one less soft drink or sweet drink a day. Many of those drinks have too many calories without much nutritional value and are more or less empty calories. A soft drink may have more than 120 calories. Replace soft drinks with diet soft drinks to decrease your calorie consumption.

Get more fiber by eating more vegetables, fruit, nuts, legumes and natural grains. Don't eat so much overly processed food which is also more like empty calories. Increasing fiber with more veggies, fruit, legumes and grains will decrease your risk of diabetes and heart disease and prevent constipation.

Try to substitute meat alternatives for meat and dairy alternatives for dairy foods that you eat. The meat and dairy substitutes are light refreshing alternatives to the heavy meat and dairy foods. Many groceries have packaged sliced soy meat and cheese alternative sandwich products. They have soy burgers, soy hot dogs, soy sausage, soy bacon and soy barbecued ribs.
