China is the most capitalist country on earth!
For those of us who are in favor of corporate domination of the word, it is surely good news that China, once purported - completely fallaciously, of course - to be the “workers’ paradise,” has now become the most capitalist country in the world. There might be those who maintain that America still maintains this number one position, but look at the facts. China has no unions to speak of, only 15% of the populace is what might be considered middle class, over 70% of the nations wealth is controlled by just 3% of some of the population, and the gap between the extremely wealthy and the middle class is even greater than it is in the United States. Admittedly, China does have what some might consider an unfair advantage in having assumed this number one position since its leaders do not even have to pay lip-service to the notion of democracy. China’s corporate bosses would never have to tolerate the workers’ rebellion that is now going on in Wisconsin, for instance.
However, we American patriots who covet the number one role for our own country can take heart with the developments of the past thirty-some years. Even way back in 1970 at least 70% of the nation’s wealth was controlled by only 4% of the population. “Reaganomics” widened the gap between the extremely wealthy and the middle class by siphoning even more of the nations wealth upward, and greatly increased the percent of the population below the poverty line. We now control at least 85% of national wealth.
Reagan made a great president because he was so easily manipulated. As long as we kept him isolated from contrary opinions we could make him think as we wanted him to. But now we no longer even require a president whom corporations can manipulate; since the first Bush presidency, the presidents themselves have been corporate leaders.
Governor Snyder in Michigan has recently implemented plans to take over locally elected governments and putting them under Corporate control, while also raising taxes on the elderly, the low income workers, and do-gooders who donate money to universities. We now not only have control of the executive branch of government, the Supreme Court is also in our pocket. There is no way that any rulings favorable to workers, or even slightly unfavorable to corporate interests, will get past
