Poetry: Life & death

by Sean Mcbride

Created on: March 06, 2011

Upon a gentle summer night

I watched a moth seek out a light

and, though it burned and caused him pain,

yet still he sought the light again.

His heart that light could not resist.

His painful flight did not desist

until he died. His love thus proved.

The light remained. Unchanged. Unmoved.
