Writing an online article can take as little or as much time as the author wants it to. A writer can churn out an article in a matter of minutes or can take weeks and weeks to produce the perfect article.

The amount of time it takes to write an online article depends largely on a number of factors including, the writing ability and speed of the author, the subject knowledge and the quest of the writer for perfection.

Like anything else the more you practice the better you get at writing. The more you write the more adept you get at writing concisely and quickly, rapidly producing a good quality online article. When you first start writing online it can take a while to clear the cobwebs out. You may be sat at your screen wondering what to write, or how best to respond to an article title.

The more you write, the better you get at it and as your writing skills improve the time it takes to write an article will speed up to. Some people are lucky, naturally talented writers can produce large amounts of good quality text extremely quickly, however fast is not always best. Sometimes it is better to take your time and produce good quality articles over longer periods of time.

If an author is writing on a subject they are knowledgeable about the article can quickly come together. If, as a writer you are having to write on a subject you are not familiar with then the whole writing process, from researching to finished article can take days, sometimes weeks to get the perfect article.

Wherever you turn on the internet you see articles written by amateur writers, some are very obviously written in a matter of minutes, others you can see the time and effort put into them by the author. If you are wanting to write a quick blog then your online article can take minutes. If, however you are wanting to use the internet as a place to represent your writing talents then you will take longer to write your article, planning it, writing it then proof-reading it for any silly grammar or spelling mistakes.

A perfectionist could strive forever to write the perfect online article, writing on Helium every time I log in and re-read my articles I see ways I can improve them. The length of time it takes to write an article really does depend on the individual.

A more important factor than the time it takes to write an article is the quality of what you are writing. You shouldn’t feel under pressure to churn out low quality articles to the detriment of your writing.
