Nicholas Cage is an American actor who is best known for his rigorous and entertaining action roles. However, Cage has had a long industrious career playing a variety of other roles as well. His top ten movies are:

1. Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), directed by Cage's famous uncle, Francis Ford Coppola, this is the story of a woman who fell in love with her high school sweetheart only to have him grow into an adulterous husband. The woman attends her high school reunion and passes out only to wake up and find that she has gone back in time to live high school over again. Will she fall in love with him again or change her past? Cage plays the high school love. 

2. Moonstruck (1987), starring Cher, was the star power behind this film about a widowed woman who is taking a second chance with love but is torn between two brothers. Cage plays the younger, Lothario brother. This movie is often hailed as a sweet, passionate romance.

3. Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), a commitment phobic man and his long time girlfriend finally decide to marry in Vegas, but a high-rolling gambler has other plans to steal the girlfriend away, because she resembles his dead wife. Cage was on a comedic, lovestruck high with the film and had fantastic chemistry with his co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.  The film is high on glitz and glamour with location shots all over Vegas.

4. Leaving Las Vegas (1995), a somber love story about a man who has lost everything (his job, family) and has decided to give up on life and drink himself to death. He moves to Las Vegas and meets a kindred spirit in a prostitute. High on drama, this film is beautifully shot and acted.

5. The Rock (1996), a militant force is threatening to take over the most famous of all prisons (based on Alcatraz) and release a chemical weapon. Only two men stand a chance of stopping them, Cage's character a chemical weapons specialist and the only man to ever escape the prison, played by Sean Connery. This movie is action-packed and pace driven.

6. Con-Air (1997), is fantastically original movie. The premise is that a new state-of-art plane that is supposed to transport prisoners from one jail to another is hi-jacked by the convicts themselves. Also on board is a man who was unjustly convicted and had served his time, and was hitching a ride home. It is up to him to save the plane and stop the prisoners. This movie is a wild ride with a ton of stars.
