Inside My Imagination.

Intoxicated; 
I levitated ~
floated, for
a moment
above the 
pretentious  
perceptions. -
Evil people;
that I know;
laughed from
below -
I was stuck
with neurosis;
the scent of
roses ~
carried on
a cool breeze;
and I fell gently;
landed with
ease -
my soul
black as coal;
released now to
the angels.

Danger drags
it's feet;

Inconsistent -
Incomplete -
I've defeated
fire-breathing
dragons -
Pulled babies
in wagons;
and I've been
the princess -
locked in a
tower;
Inside my
imagination -
I have the power;
the power to
bring a kindgom;
to their knees.

She exahaled;
one final time -
she was unique;
a one-of-a-kind
she was a queen;
and she was
mine -
my whole life.
And as held her;
I watched her
climb - from
mortal to
metaphorical;
death -
into eternal life...
I gave my Mother
back to the universe;
I still got her purse;
I saw it first...
God, the worst
of it is over.

Days are
sometimes lonely -
Winter has been long;
I get tired -
those who I admired
are gone; long gone...
and I write songs -
about the bright side;
I confide in harmony;
and images of
childhood dreams -
come to me;
comfort me -
rearrange the pain;
Intoxicated -
inspired;
I imagine -
I carry the fire;
amidst the mayhem;
I sing the anthem;
and dry cheeks -
no one speaks;
like me -
anymore...

I've defeated

Liberated;
facinated by the
feirceness of
these friendships;
the distance of
siblings and the
emtiness of
Summer flings;
tarnished
Wedding rings;
and the song
a mourning dove
sings - who?
who? who?
Hey! who are you
to ask; that?
I'm just trying to
kick-back and
relax -
but my mind won't
let me -
Damn, ghosts
they're gonna
get me - gonna
get me - again.
