"The 25yr prayer"
Here is a story about a man named Stan and his pain.
suffering in a manner not even he could explain
Living day by day was just not enough
to escape the congestion built up in his veins
A complicated man but one who never complained
even when the rain was chasing the sun away
To live is to die he'd most commonly say
and when he lost his job to a younger man
he fell to his knees and began to pray
A motion he'd not done in 25 years
but this time he could not overcome his tears
"Lord, help me to pass the days in peace
I offer you my soul.
Take me away before I grow cold
for I am weak
It's rest I seek
I'm so afraid of growing lonely and old."
He said these words as he bowed his head upon his bed
but suddenly he realized that while he suffered, he was not dead
and this cheered him up enough to say "amen"
He rose to his feet knowing that he would never pray again
He went for a drink
Whiskey sour malt
He felt that what he felt really wasn't his fault
A love forgotten is what got him in such a funk
his scorn had made him so bitter that he stunk
for his Susan had been a cheater
but he was no wife beater so he had filed for divorce
He got a quarter; she got three-fourths
His hard-earned wealth had been no more
Lip-biting prevented him from calling her a w-
but that's exactly what he had felt
rejected and angry it made him unwell
Well time had passed and he was a different Stan
No joy until he found a job as a salesman
selling propane to commercial airplanes
but now jobless he felt that he might go insane
Life was worth living if he overlooked all the pain.

My mind floats with mindless madness not letting me rest for there is no peace.
It wanders back and forth searching

Heartbeats in my throat.
Blood flowing faster.
Barely afloat.
Barely averting disaster.
Pressure in my chest.

I know your there
even though I can't see you
I can feel you
even though I can't touch you
I'd tell you to leave
but you would
Everyone wants something.
They surround me,
Press me to the wall,
Screaming my name.
My guts twist and boil inside.
My mouth

STRESSED
The despair brought about
by mental confusion
more then upsets,
it is emotionally disruptive.
It is like fighting for
