Tampa, Florida is best known for being home to Busch Gardens, but did you know they have several museums that are worth checking out? All of the museums in Tampa are family friendly. Many of the museums switch up the themes of their exhibits, so it is hard for even the locals to get bored with the museums. Here are a few of the best museums that you should be put on your itinerary.

Science Museums

Tampa, FL has a few science museums to choose from. The best museums are their interactive museums with hands-on learning opportunities. People of all ages have an amazing time and always leaves knowing they have learned something new. Tampa, FL truly brings science to life.

Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry (http://www.mosi.org) is one of the best interactive museums in the country. There are almost five hundred exhibits where kids and adults can learn about science through direct hands-on learning exhibits. These exhibits change periodically so each visit is unique.

Aside from exhibits, there are daily shows that are also interactive and quite the learning experience. The Museum of Science and Industry is also home to the only Dome Imax theatre in Florida. They also have a variety of classes which cater to families, homeschoolers, schools, and youth clubs. Admission depends on what you wish to experience at the museum and how old you are. Glazers Children Museum (http://glazermuseum.org) is made just for children. In fact their motto is, “A place where it is okay to kid around.” It is geared toward children up to age 10. They have twelve themed areas with over 150 interactive exhibits. At the Glazers Children Museum, they believe that children learn through play and what better way to learn about the world around them than activities that are interactive and fun. If fact, at Glazers Children Museum these exhibits are fondly call “interactivities”.

Each year Glazers Children Museum offers day camps for children. The themes of these camps change from year to year. There are also a variety of programs each month for children to participate in. Many kids in the Tampa area dream of having their birthday party celebrated at Glazers Children Museum. There are also several events host each year there. The biggest one is a fundraiser for the museum called the Imagination Gala.
