ARTICLE POETRY: FOOLISH DESIRE

Looking back, it was a foolish desire,

But forgive me, my heart was on fire.

I was foolish enough to imagine

Us together, to the end of time.

My imagination played tricks on me,

Tricks that caused me not to see

You really didn't care

That I waited one long year.

I could not get you off my mind

People say that love is blind

So I blindly waited for you to love me,

Dreamt of you, even gave you my apartment  door-key,

You turned out to be a liar

Now I'm trying to kill my foolish desire.
