Holding her hand, taking her with me
The walk through life made easier
Her love given freely
She made me wiser
With patience she taught me
To accept love, without query
She made my life and times so much less weary
When she left on that final journey
The question that echoed in my mind
How would I walk through life now
She was old and getting on
But still I never expected her to be gone
So many times we walked together
Along the shore line
Or in the hills upon the heather
Oh how eager she used to be
Even with the years, the excitement was always there
But now my faith full dog is gone
I walk through life all alone
