From the dawning of the ages,
I serve as nemesis to light,
a mystery for sages,
and for some the cause of fright,
In my veil you hear my whispers,
as wind running through the trees,
from deep within my shadows,
evils spawn conspiracies,
I bring calmness to those within me,
and cause lovers to delight,
I can sharpen all your senses,
though I take away your sight,
I cool all things laid before me,
as things nocturnal do appear,
and I make my presence heavy,
so all know that I am here,
And though each day I chase it,
I am also chased by light,
Until the end of ages,
Forever I am Night.
