Santa Rosa is the largest city in Sonoma County in California. It is situated along the west coast. Santa Rosa has, in recent years has been voted as one of the best places to live in the United States. This city has a population of about 157,468 residents of mixed racial background. The warm climate in the area makes it a comfortable place to live for all age groups. Although many people claim that the cost of living is a little high; with good planning and budgeting it is possible to have a great and fulfilling life in Santa Rosa.

As in almost any city across the United States and across the world, a great place to live is defined by individual expectations, achievements and income. Santa Rosa is no different. For those who desire to live in a place where the climate is tolerable no matter what the season, Santa Rose is a great place to live. The good climate in Santa Rosa is one of the greatest assets of the area.

Housing in Santa Rosa is costly and requires good planning. The general cost of living in this city is expensive but it is not unaffordable. This however does not deter those who love Santa Rosa from living here. If you have a steady income, it is possible to plan accordingly and enjoy your life in Santa Rosa tremendously.

Santa Rosa is close to other big cities like San Francisco which is only an hour drive away. Therefore it is possible to travel conveniently for events or just for enjoyment. With its scenic grape plantations, Santa Rosa provides excellent views of its numerous vineyards and offers wine tours. It also boasts the famous redwoods and rolling hills covered with the amazing trees.

Santa Rosa offers facilities for assisted-living for its older residents like the Friends House, the Brighton Gardens of Santa Rosa and Primrose Santa Rosa. Here even the elderly and those who have age acquired ailments like Alzheimer’s disease can also have a great place to live in.

Recreation facilities are numerous in Santa Rosa and there is something to cater to everyone. There are well maintained parks like the Bicentennial Park and the Finely Community Park. Designated picnic areas which can be reserved for special events like weddings, company and community picnics, and any other special occasion are available. There are even designated dog parks where the animals can enjoy a day out. Boating and sailing facilities, sports fields and playgrounds for the young ones are available.

Santa Rosa is a great place to live. Even though complaints about the high cost of living have been voiced time and time again, those who have learned to love this city are not in a hurry to re-locate to any other city. Santa Rosa is simply the best!
