How to ask a complete stranger on a date

Asking a complete stranger on a date sounds hard but actually it's not. In fact, it is more easier because there is no major feelings involved and at stake. The mere asking for a date is a total casual act and can be interpreted as a meet-up between friends.

Here are some samples:

The Guy At The Restaurant:

He catches your fancy from far across the restaurant. You are single, in your prime and have an appointment with your Realtor to hunt your next apartment. While waiting, you pass by him and smile.

If he reciprocates, take the cue from there. Comment on something intelligent; about the headlines on the newspaper or comment on the author or book he is reading. Ask if he's alone and make a virtual jump in your mind if so.

Here's your chance. Ask whether it's alright to sit for awhile. Talk about something interesting and access if you would like to be on a date with him next time.  Once your Realtor arrives, wave from afar, giving an indication to your potential date that you have to go. You are also giving him a chance to size you up and the more quick-witted one will ask for your number.

That should immediately happen after you have mentioned that it would be great to catch up sometime over coffee as your apartment hunting has to start lest you become homeless. Be spontaneous and give your number if he looks keen. You will feel the vibe if he wants to get to know you. At this stage, give him the benefit of the doubt that he's single. If he calls you by day's end or over the next few days, you have secured yourself a date.

The Accidental Date:

This belongs to a broader category. The accidental date says it all; unplanned and golden opportunities rolling themselves by chance. You see a lady by the roadside struggling to change the car tire. Here's your chance. Stop to help and be sincere about it. After all, nothing is more heroic than helping a damsel in distress.

Do not expect anything in return and be tact. If she looks smitten by your heroic act, perhaps a casual date over how she lands herself in that condition would work in your favor. Ask away whether she's in a hurry. It's good to be polite. If it's your lucky day, you'll get a date.

If you are invited to a birthday party or any event, this is the best place to meet strangers and make friends. You may gain potential dates from such events too. If you are shy, ask your friend to make the introduction for you. Have great conversations and see if there's any chemistry. Your chance of securing a date is high in such circumstances.

The Speed Date:

The name says it all. Speed date. Your chance of asking a complete stranger on a date is very high. In fact, it beats the restaurant and accidental date methods. Speed dates give the best possible date candidates and the nature of it means that there is no beating about the bush.  Everybody means business.

Get to know your potential date in as much time frame which you are given before getting to know the next one.  Your mind must work on speed dial and be quick to access whether this stranger sitting in front of you may be the best possible date by day's end or sometime during the week.

Speed dates are fun and it should be thoroughly enjoyed. You are technically in short spurts of dates with different people before you set up a proper one with the 'chosen one'. In short, you have the luxury of asking.

Making Up Your Mind:

The most important thing is not to feel embarrassed or fearful asking a total stranger on a date.  It is not going to make yourself look shabby too.  Be confident and secure the date you have always wanted for yourself.
