The remnant, The seed
My strength is gone from me
Dissipated, exhausted
Swept away, of no use within
Fit only for the waste without
Yet bravely I hold on
Like a seed caught in with winnowed chaff
Dried up, forgotten
Separated, isolated
Thrown out and trampled under
Discarded, abandoned
No hope in sight
Burned by the scorching sun
Surely destined to die
Of suddenness caught
On a wayfaring branch
Swept of howling wind
A refuge of sorts
Oh but soon displaced
Separated; and once again alone
Driven deep
Amidst the earth
Pounded, pierced
Surely the end is come
Then suddenly peace !
Not a sound to be heard
Surrounded by moist darkness
Nothing seen, nothing….
By God! I feel my innards quiver
Quickening from deep within
Pulsing, throbbing
Oh it will not stop
Nor would I will it to
For my parts begin to move!
Now throttled from within I push
Gaining strength
Breaking forth to feel
No more the scorching sun
But gentle warmth cradling the settled dew
A cleansing renewing bath to my soul
I’m revived! I’m revived!
From hands that stripped to arms that wrap
By forces once gripped now with strength propelled
My bruises healed, My spirit raised
No more death, or dearth
I’m revived! I’m revived ! I’m revived !
I'm revived to live again…..

Using the protein in the cotyledons,
The tiny seed sprouts out!
God's invested
From the seeds we learn our needs
A seed for a weed will grow anywhere
A seed for food must be tended with care
