iPad app reviews: Seasonality Go

The weather is something people around the world have an interest in.  Weather can cause interruptions in scheduled activities, can reduce crop production, and, in some instances, can become life threatening.  There are a variety of weather applications available for the iPad.  While a number of apps supply a generic overview of the current weather outlook, Seasonality Go stands above the rest and is a must have for those who are serious about having up to date weather information on their mobile device.

One of the biggest advantages of the Seasonality Go app is its ability to be customized to the user’s specifications.  Inserts can be added to create pages that show in graph form data such as temperature, wind speed, cloud cover, precipitation amount, humidity, snowfall amount barometric pressure, tidal information, sun and moon rise/set, current conditions, high resolution animated satellite/radar and the 7 day forecast.  Graphs may be pinched to zoom in or out enabling users to view forecast data by the hour or by the week.  These inserts may be shrunk or enlarged within the app, based on your requirement.  You may create a page with only 1 or 2 apps, or have another with 8 or 9.

The app uses the iPad’s location services to pinpoint your location and provide information from the nearest weather station.  Locations may also be directly input into the app and saved as “favorites.”  The app has over 30,000 locations in memory from 200 nations around the world.  Having recent weather data should not be a problem with Seasonality Go.  Map overlays are from Google, and users may choose to display classic, satellite, or a combination of the two.  These maps may be zoomed in for a neighborhood type view, or out to view the conditions for an entire nation.

I believe Seasonality Go is the best weather app currently available for the iPad.  It easily has replaced better known apps on my device, and it is the first weather app I check each day.  One drawback I have found in the app at the time of this writing is the fact it does not display weather watch or warning information.  If the app gains this ability in the future, the other weather apps on my device will become obsolete.

Despite the relatively expensive price of $9.99, Seasonality Go is a must have for those individuals who need to know the daily twists and turns of the weather.  It truly is an outstanding application, and its forecasting ability is very accurate.  I would definitely recommend Seasonality Go to anyone with an interest in the weather.
