It's truly a wonder and delight to see people in the Mideast and Northern Africa pushing for freedom and democracy. What a joy it was to see millions of jubilant Egyptians celebrating after Hosni Mubarak was ousted.
The old guard isn't going to topple so easily in places like Libya, but we can hold a vision of an ultimate result of massive celebration there and elsewhere similar to that in Egypt.
When an autocratic regime bites the dust, a great deal of confusion, along with celebration, takes place. Life will be chaotic for awhile until the people replace the previous repressive government with a new one.
In each of the countries where people are surging forward, demanding freedom, it's possible that a representative form of government based on personal liberties can truly gain a fast foothold. The Internet, that accelerated this whole process in the first place, can be a tool for stabalizing these regions.
On the other hand, extremists can exploit these fragile countries, promising a much better life but delivering something perhaps even worse. (My partner, Mark, was in Iran in 1979 when the Shah was deposed by the Iranians, and a case could be made that the folks there jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.)
Another possible scenario is a newly free country becoming torn by longstanding hatred between rival factions. That happened in Iraq and in parts of the former Soviet Union.
What holds the fate of these nations where freedom is trying to breathe its first breath?
The Law of Attraction. It responds to our thoughts by delivering more of the same.
Unlike an individual who obsesses about what went wrong with a previous relationship and finds him/herself somehow reliving that mess with different faces in different places, hopefully a significant percentage of the people in these countries will turn their attention away from what went wrong and focus on what they want.
As the folks happily zero in on these new opportunities and envision how they want their lives to be, the Law of Attraction, ever on duty, will help them usher in their dreams.
And that is something to cheer about all over the place.
