If it were not for environmentalists then people would not be recycling as much as they are now recycling. Every year the counties local councils produce a statistics sheet to inform the household tenant whether their area is a good or bad area for recycling and also if there has been a change in the amount of recycling activity such as more or less.

In most areas there has been a significant increase in the amount that people are recycling both in their own homes and also at the local recycling plants. Since the councils have put in recycling bins for every household, people have been finding themselves without an excuse not to recycle and to make it harder, the council only collect the normal household waste bin once a fortnight and rotates these collections with the recycling bin, so if you don’t want your bin to get full then simply separate your recyclables.

If it were not for environmentalists then people would probably not be recycling to the massive extent that people are now recycling. The documentaries on recycling do not seem to be getting through to the viewers but with the environmentalists making such a movement, that the councils and governments had to sit up and pay attention and there has now been an great increase.

Not only is this great to educate people about how recycling saves the planet but now in our local supermarkets we can purchase recycled goods at low prices, such as pencil cases.

Not only does it save the trees but this movement saves so many aspects of the planet that many people are ignorant too. Many people do not realize that by recycling car tyres you can actually produce a pencil case, as it reduces the amount of materials taking so long to rot and also producing toxins when the materials are burnt so that more rubbish can be dumped onto landfills.

It is not fair to say that environmentalists do harm. True they can be a pain but without them then so many more of us would be wandering around so ignorant to the damage that we are all doing to this planet that we love so much.

Big business can’t grumble at environmentalists either as there is now so many schemes set up so that by recycling in bulk, then companies get cheques for their time and effort sorting products to be recycled rather than just leaving them for land fill. True we should not have to look over the fact that capitalists’ are paid for recycling but at least it is one huge step in the right direction and encouragement for all and generations to come to value just how important that recycling is.
