Our modern society has come a long way, but we have yet a while to go.

The good ole boys of the world are always patting each other on the back and talking about how they have gave those women so many opportunities in their world. They talk about how they allowed us to start wearing shoes and pick how many children we have. The truth of the matter is that men were glad that we put on shoes and start going out in the world. Men knew that if we could manage a home with 3, 6, 9 or 12 children, we could also do other jobs (money paying) very successfully. Truth is, women invented multi-tasking. What man do you know who can hang out clothes, feed 2 screaming babies and teach Mary her alphabets, all without breaking a sweat? Not any! Yes there are some men that can do the job but make sure you keep a bucket close to catch the sweat!

So why do we have to work harder at any job which we embark on outside of the home and even harder if we are in a leadership position?

We have to work harder to prove that we can multi-task and that when the lights come on we are in leadership positions everyday in our household, but still men believe that women can not handle the outside world with out going through a hormonal breakdown; they think we cannot handle their world because we do not have the big stick that they carry. So what happens is that they place us under a microscope and dissect our every move. Many men believe that because we are women, we will be intimidated easily and that if the male competition barks loud enough we will back down and the competition will gain a foothold against the company in which the woman works for.

We have to work harder because men believe that women will have monthly breakdowns and miss important meeting or go through menopause and forget where they put the progress reports for last month building plans. Men think that we are an emotionally bomb waiting to go off and this is why we have to work harder to prove them wrong.

Women have to work harder because men really do not wait us in many work places because men feel that with us there they can’t be the good ole boys they truly are. With women in the work place men can’t openly talk about the rack on the secretary in the next office or the lap dance they got at last week dinner meeting, at the Ride Em’ Low adult club.

The bottom line is that women have to work harder because boys will be boys!
