Poetry: Dancer

She flitted out onto the stage.

Her feather costume pearly sage.

Her steps were delicate and light.

Much like an eagle, smooth in flight.

The dancer moved with style and grace.

Together with her lovely face.

The audience soon became entranced.

The way she leaped and twirled and danced.

Back and forth the dancer swayed.

To every beat the music played.

Her dance enchanted all who came.

All the critics did proclaim.

She was the very best they’d seen.

The ballerina was the queen.

And when the music reached the end.

She took a final graceful bend.

That’s when the dancer took her queue.

And like a bird away she flew.
