To successfully use feng shui in your office cubicle requires acquiring some knowledge of this ancient practice. This means developing a basic understanding of a great number of practices and formulas that attract positive energy patterns.

The first step is to discover what your personal Kua number is and which directions (East, West, North or South) are considered most auspicious for that number. This isn’t difficult but requires a lunar calendar conversion and a detailed formula. The lunar table and related formula are available in feng shui guide books. The practice then uses these formulas to attract positive energy based on this number

But there are some tips and points that can be used to create a more positive energy flow in an office cubicle without attempting to become a full fledged practitioner.

A cubicle indicates a small square or rectangular office space. These spaces are usually placed side-by-side around or through a larger work place. They usually are monochromatic in color, in shades of white, beige or grey. A desk, chair and storage cabinet or shelves are often the only furnishings.

The best spot to place your desk is in the right side of a room, diagonal from the door. Avoid placing your back toward the entrance to the workspace. Sit with your desk in front of you, facing the door, if space permits.

Avoid the bad energy produced by sharp corners of desks and cabinets by placing plants close to these pointed edges. You can use fake plants for feng shui purposes but keep them dusted and clean. A lamp placed near a sharp structure also softens the spot allowing good energy to flow. Good energy is encouraged by soft, flowing or circular lines in the practice of feng shui. So consider oval picture frames, rather than square, for family photos placed on the desk.

Place you computer on the right side of the desk and a taller lamp or plant on the left side of your work area.. If the wall in front of you faces North, South-east or East, hang a picture containing water which brings good luck. Placing a figurine or picture of a red bird in the South-side of the work space brings the luck of opportunity.

The height of the back of your chair is important in feng shui. A chair back of 43 inches is optimum for good luck. And always have arms on your work chair. These practices encourage prosperity.

Purchase a small metal container and fill it with coins. Place it in the North-west corner of your work space in a secluded or covered spot. This is referred
