Sites like Odesk, GetaFreelancer and Rentacoder all provide some translation work although it is never guaranteed. Bidding types are free to join and search and work on a commission basis. When you complete a project successfully and get paid the website takes a percentage (typically 5 to 10%) or a flat fee before payment is issued to you. Some translation providers find themselves translating whole books of fiction for a nice fee.
