"Jacket"
I put on my jacket
And zip it up tight
Bracing
For the cold outside.
The hurt, not the likes
Much to my surprise,
Hits home right there
In my chest.
Sometimes,
The truth hurts more
Than any lie ever could
Like a bullet, it kills.
Words and feelings
Fly around my head
Some coming in
Letting my mind wrap around them
Others fly right by
On the cold wind
Leaving me to wonder
What they were about
Or who they belonged to
For me or for you, I never knew,
So I wrapped my jacket tighter, and kept walking
