ListMyFive is a new revenue sharing site for freelance writers. Launched in September 2010, this writing site is currently only open to US residents but expects to soon expand to Canadian residents. Any US resident aged fourteen and over can join ListMyFive but you must be aged 18 in order to participate in their revenue sharing and get paid.

Unlike other article writing sites, ListMyFive only takes lists of five things. To make a list you first need to visit the site and create an account which typically takes only several minutes. Writers then pick a topic, and write five tips or five likes or dislikes relating to one topic. A great thing about this site is that more than one writer may pick an identical topic with similar tips without either one risking having a list deleted.

The on-line form for creating lists within ListMyFive is simple and quick to format. Submitting is done quickly and once a list is accepted a writer can use the built in Twitter, Email and Facebook functions to market and promote their lists without having to cut and paste links. Writers are encouraged to read others lists and if you like them you can click the 'high five' icon. The more high fives you get, the more a list moves up in rankings.

Creating a successful list means tightening your writing, and being very specific.The popularity of any list will depend on how well it is written; spelling, grammar and clarity are important along with subject matter. Creativity is encouraged; just about anyting can be listed: what you liked about a hotel, resort, movie, software package etc. Researching key words, picking an effective title, and referencing the title in the body of the list will make it easier for search engines to pick up.

ListMyFive doesn't give away how it calculates page hits or how it shares revenue which is dependant on advertisements. Under the FAQ section at the bottom of the homepage the Writers Compensation Program is explained as factoring in such things as list popularity and page hits. Lists with external links tend to fare far better. Earnings are calculated monthly and paid via Paypal by the tenth of the following month.

A great aspect to this new writing site is the forum where fellow list writers can interact. While this site is not currently a big money maker for many writers it is fast, fun and easy to do and share. When ListMyFive goes global earnings and writing should increase for everyone.
