Everyone who experienced evil knows its reality. Just ask someone who has been abused or survived extermination camp during second world war. It is all around us, people who deny its existence live with their heads in the sand to say the least.
It is an act of ill will towards someone as opposed to good will, seeking your own prosperity at the expense of someone else for example is evil just like murder (except in defense of self or other) is evil.
Pretty much everything that has to do with doing harm to another person falls into this category. I feel funny writing this because it used to be such a common knowledge. It is amazing how relative thinking is washing away all common sense.
I wonder how someone who lived 150 years ago would react, if I told him that some people believe that there is no evil...
I leave the rest to your own imagination.
