I thought of you today
I thought today,
I would write a poem,
and send it to a soldier,
fighting in Afghanistan.
I thought real hard,
then said with pride,
a soldier don't need no poem,
but a big thank you would suffice.
Again I thought today,
and a poem came to mind,
the like I can't write tonite,
but soldier I thought of you today.

To the edge I write, I don't know
My light flickers dimly but I press on,
rabidly, craving your touch.
