POETRY; A NEW LIFE
The fire burning within my heart
Causing me to desire a new start,
Contemplating on all the years that passed
Time wasted and opportunities that never last,
Many opportunities knocked on my door,
I made choices, unclear and poor.
It is funny how decisions of the past
Can linger in your life and last,
Foolish and emotional decisions
Made with my heart, not thinking of my missions.
I should have used my head
But used my heart instead
Empathizing with those who now show me no love
Giving and sharing at the time, just trying to prove,
What? I don't know
Spending time and caring in times high and low
Hoping to reap that kindness that I sow.
I am glad that during all this, What is the fact?
My integrity has remained intact.
Maybe, just maybe one day
I will live to say
" I did make the right choices after all ,
I will rise above all this, I cannot fall"
